THE STYLIST VIEWPOINT
STYLE 107
Zimmermann have produced the ultimate dress for brides opting for smart city nuptials but who covet some tradition when it come to their bridal attire. This dress has everything to make a captivating impression and although it is short, it is undeniably bridal. The palest ivory, beautiful lace, covered buttons and the exaggerated sleeve are all synonymous with classic wedding gowns, yet the silhouette and application is thoroughly modern and charming. Well fitting bodysuits are good as they pull the waist in for smooth lines under the fitted shape of the dress. The body of the dress is lined to the upper chest where it becomes sheer lace over the cleavage and sleeves so strapless underwear is suggested.
I prefer to style it with minimal low to mid heel shoes - it creates a 1960’s elegance in doing so - to keep the focus on the dress. Erdem’s earrings of pearl and darkest midnight blue gems add a fashionable twist and the ‘something blue’ for tradition. I have layered two ponytail bands with bows to create a back view statement, choosing black to sit nicely with the earrings and to bring some individuality to the outfit. This look would look equally stunning with ivory ponytail bows and regular pearls for those preferring an all white, true bridal approach.
