THE STYLIST VIEWPOINT
STYLE 1081
Winter weddings present particular style challenges mostly related to being outside for any length of time - footwear and outerwear needing some consideration. In the case of most wedding dresses, long or short, an immaculate ivory tailored coat slung over the shoulders is chic and does the job getting from A to B in cold or wet conditions.
In this case I fell in love with the cuteness of this mini puffa with it’s high neck, cropped sleeve and delicate pearl buttons. It is perfect for outdoor events and is an ideal component to a bridal outfit. Worn over a lightweight top and full length skirt, it is unexpected yet considered. The key to this style is ensuring the exact balance between the top and bottom. The crop of the jacket allows for the waist to be seen so enhance that with a skirt or dress silhouette which has a fitted waist and ideally volume to the hem to avoid a top heavy shape.
As there is little embellishment on the clothing items I would opt for detail on the shoes, however a simple satin pump would also sit perfectly for a seamless finish.
